Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2009. I've been here for almost 24 hours now. It promises to be a good year. The biggest news of the day is that I was promoted! LTC Eifler, my battalion commander, was here and he had a quick ceremony in which I my old rank, 2nd Lieutenant, was stripped from my uniform and my new rank, 1st Lieutenant, was pinned in place. Today is a good day. I'll send pictures later. Best wishes to you all!
